October 17th 2013: Tapas at Dali, Somerville

This morning before work, I decided to take advantage of the good weather to check out a few water bodies in Leicester,

Bouchard Pond,

while there weren't any significant views of Curtis Pond on Stafford Street and Main Street in Worcester.

After work, I had a meetup event to go to at Dali, a tapas restaurant in the city of Somerville.

This place is pretty nice in terms of decor, and our group was allowed to sit at the couch area as well.









For drinks, some of us got the Sangria, which was okay in taste.

For food, we ordered a lot. The Jamón Serrano (Spanish Cured Ham) was pretty good, but then again, you can't go wrong with cured ham.

The Rustic Bread and Herbed Popovers w/ Garbanzo Mushroom Spread were just okay, nothing too spectacular.

I did not get to try the Aceitunas Aliñadas (Marinated Olives), while the Queso Rebozado con Miel (Deep-Fried Spanish Cheese w/Honey & Sweet Onion) was pretty creamy and delicious.

The Filloa de Berenjenas (Savory Crepe w/Eggplant Ragú w/'Burnt' Garlic Sauce) was pretty good, especially with the sauce

The Alcachofas Rellenas (Mushroom-filled Artichokes with manchego cheese) was pretty much the best dish of the night, while the sauce for the Vieiras al Azafrán (right | Broiled Sea Scallops in Saffron Cream) tasted just like it had lobster in it. Marvelous.

The Faisán a la Alcántara (Boneless Pheasant w/Mushrooms & Bacon), was pretty unique and tasty too, though a little dry at times.

I've had squid ink noodles before, and the Chipirones Rellenos (Tuna- Stuffed Squid in its own ink on Rice) were just as good, if not better.

The Buñuelos de Verdura (Deep-Fried Cauliflower/Broccoli/Cheese Puffs) were just like clam fritters, which I am not too big a fan of,tasting little like broccoli .

The Sopa del Pastor (Lamb/Pasta/Apricot Soup) was too concentrated in my opinion, although it would have tasted well with rice or bread.

Last but not least, the Gambas al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) is pretty much served at any tapas place, but I have to say Dali is the best for it.

Overall, I had an enjoyable meal with friends, although I still think Toro in the South End area of Boston is still the best tapas place in the area.
