October 6th 2013: Dinner at Kirkland Tap and Trotter, Somerville

Tonight, after a crappy day of doing food truck stuff in the rain, even though people still came out in the midst of the rain, we decided to have dinner at a new restaurant in the city of Somerville, namely the Kirkland Tap and Trotter. This place is pretty hip, and is definitely popular given we had to wait a while for a table. Meanwhile, we got a chance to look at the kitchen which is open for all to see, and I had to notice that none of the chefs were wearing gloves, and they were wiping their hands on their aprons.

Not very sanitary at all. The food we got, thankfully, was pretty good, although to a certain extent, a little too pricy.

For appetizers, we got the Grilled Corn, which was pretty tasty,

 and the Duck Fat Brussel Sprouts, which were just okay in my opinion.

For food, I got the House-made Spaghetti (chicken liver, pumpkin, brown butter), which was much like creamy Alfredo and good, though I felt it was not worth the price.

My friends got the Choucroute Garni (two sausages, pork belly, Kirkland kraut), the Braised Local Skate Wing (Littleneck Clams, smoked tomatoes, beans) and the Grilled Vadouvan Lamb Ribs (bull’s horn peppers).

The pork belly was good but again a little too pricy, although the skate wing and and the ribs were really fresh, tender and flavorful.

Overall, a pretty good dining experience, although a little pricy for some dishes.
